The low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened

  • According to the observations at (06:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened. Weather is  partly cloudy in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

  • According to the observations at (06:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the South East Bay  still persists over the West Central Bay of Bengal.

  • According to the observations at (09:30)hrs MST today, yesterday low pressure area over the South Andaman sea and adjoining South East Bay of Bengal still persists over the South East Bay of Bengal.

  • According to the observations at (15:30)hrs MST today,  a low pressure area over West Central Bay of Bengal still persists.

  • According to the observations at (18:30)hrs MST today, the depression over the Central Bay of Bengal has almost stationary and centered at about  (480) miles Southwest of Pathein (Myanmar), (390) miles East-Northeast of Chennai (India) and (300) miles Southeast of Vishakhapatnam (India). It is forecast to move westwards and weaken into a low pressure area during next (48)hours.
  • The present stage of depression is coded yellow state as it is not moving towards Myanmar coasts.
  • Under the influence of the depression , rain or thundershowers will be  scattered to fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States .
  • Squalls with rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)mph.
